Kawhi Leonard may soon be in middle of longtime National Basketball Association rivalry”

The Spurs have wanted to find a way to fix the franchise's relationship with Leonard, but an overwhelming Lakers offer could convince San Antonio to part with its franchise star, league sources said. No one knows how he will react from a season-long quadriceps ailment, so it remains to be seen what kind of player the Spurs or anyone else will receive.

As free agency gets closer and teams like the Lakers begin to make strong pushes for Kawhi, expect the Sixers to stand firm in their desire to add another star-caliber talent.

With free agency nearing, the Los Angeles Lakers are attempting to acquire Kawhi Leonard from the San Antonio Spurs before July 1. But if Leonard is set on going to Los Angeles next year, Ainge probably won't want to part with much, and would likely be unwilling to give up Jaylen Brown, who was one of Boston's most reliable players in just his second National Basketball Association season. Also a native of Southern California, George has always been thought to be eyeing a chance to join the Lakers, but his time spent with Oklahoma City may have given him second thoughts about leaving Russell Westbrook and Co.

James, though, may be trying to talk George out of staying put.

So far this offseason, Tatum has largely been considered off limits when it comes to trade talks.

"I'm hearing that Kawhi Leonard isn't that enamored with the thought of coming to L.A. with LeBron", Stephen A. Smith said Wednesday on ESPN Radio.

James' contract with the Cleveland Cavaliers has expired and the ether is thick with rumors of where and with whom he will play next year. Los Angeles has the most cap space in the league and has plans to try signing LeBron James and Paul George, while simultaneously working on a trade to bring Kawhi Leonard to Los Angeles as well. Johnson said he'll step down as president if the Lakers are unable to get big-name free agents in the next two years. The 20-year-old is fresh off a promising rookie season and an even more impressive playoff run. That's because 13-year-old "Bronny", a highly regarded basketball player in OH, is very "likely" to enroll at a prestigious Los Angeles high school, according to a TMZ Sports report Wednesday, although it's apparently "not a done deal".

Smith took to his ESPN's "First Take" to claim that James had reached out to none other than Kevin Durant about possibly joining the Los Angeles Lakers.

James has also applied pressure to LA by saying he would make a decision soon.
