More Clues About Sacha Baron Cohen's New TV Show

Last week we reported that the show was in progress and that it would somehow feature Donald Trump, but this our first glimpse at actual footage from the show itself, and it is pretty incendiary. It seems we're about to find out, as he is set to star in a new series for Showtime reportedly called Who Is America? that takes on the Trump era. Written and directed by Cohen, the seven-episode series will explore individuals known and unknown across the American political spectrum. "Nobody knows how to cause a stir like Sacha Baron Cohen, and it's going to be fascinating to watch what happens when 'Who Is America?' is released on the world".

Cohen's new project is expected to drop on July 15, but little else is known about the show, as both Showtime and Cohen have only teased fans with vague promos - like the Cheney bit. Then it cuts to Cohen's voice speaking with an unplaceable accent asking former Vice President Dick Cheney to sign his "waterboard kit". Behind the elaborate setup is a genuine quest for the truth about people, places and politics.

Cohen has a history with Trump, having duped the real estate magnate to do an on-camera interview with a ploy to pitch "Ice Cream Gloves" during a 2003 segment on Da Ali G Show.

"Imagine if Sacha Baron Cohen had been undercover secretly filming a new show for a year." it begins. Cheney is then shown signing said kit and jokes, "That's the first time I've ever signed a waterboard".

It also follows news from earlier this year, in which it was said that Baron Cohen was trying to get in a room with O.J. Simpson.
