George Clooney reportedly injured in auto accident in Sardinia”

Amal, 40, and George, along with their one-year-old twins, are now living in Sardinia for the summer, where he is filming his new TV series, Catch 22.

Actor George Clooney was taken to the hospital in Sardinia and released after being involved in an accident while riding his scooter, hospital officials said.

The daily says the 57-year-old actor had been headed to a film set on Tuesday when his motorbike was hit by a auto.

A photo published on La Nuova Sardegna website shows a black scooter on one side of the road, with a dark blue estate vehicle facing the other way, at an angle across the central reserve. More information is to follow.

The couple have also been joined by George's parents, Nina and Nick Clooney, and Amal's mother Baria Alamuddin.

Italian newspaper La Nuova Sardegna tweeted a photo of the purported accident site.

The stunning abode features two swimming pools, a tennis court and an incredibly colourful landscape.

In April, the legendary thespian announced he was cutting down his acting role in the Hulu production so he could focus on directing.

His castmates include Hugh Laurie, Austin Stowell ('Whiplash') and Kyle Martin Chandler ('Friday Night Lights').

The Hulu mini-series is based on Joseph Heller's novel about a US Air Force bombardier who aims to fly sufficient missions to go back home and leave World War II behind.
