Divers Hope To Rescue Remaining Boys Trapped In Thai Cave”

- Divers and rescue workers in Thailand have begun what could be the final push to free four boys and their soccer coach still trapped in a cave in the country's remote north, according to a Thai Navy official with knowledge of the operational details.

He says they are all in strong condition.

The remaining four boys and their 25-year-old coach remain in the cave, with highly-anticipated rescue efforts underway.

Initially, rescuers said the boys (who are aged between 11 and 17) might have to wait until the end of the rainy season before they could be safely brought out from the cave, which would have involved waiting several months.

The eight boys brought out on Sunday and Monday were in good health overall and some asked for chocolate bread for breakfast, officials said earlier.

The boys and their soccer coach as they were found in a dark, partially flooded cave, in Mae Sai, on July 2 after 10 days totally cut off from the outside world.

The whole world has been fixated on the unfolding drama at the cave complex in Chiang Rai province ever since news broke that flash floods had trapped 12 boys from a local football team and their coach on June 23.

Experts have previously weighed in on the Tesla, SpaceX, and The Boring Company CEO's proposed plans, and said Musks' team may not be of much use due to huge numbers of experts already working on the rescue.

Hours after the rescue was confirmed, President Trump tweeted his congratulations, adding, "Such a handsome moment - all freed, great job!" Jesada said they were uncertain what type of infections the boys could face "because we have never experienced this kind of issue from a deep cave". Two of them possibly have a lung infection but all eight are generally "healthy and smiling", he said.

The story has transfixed the Netherlands - as well as the rest of the world - after the 12 boys and their coach were lost inside the Tham Luang park cave complex more than two weeks ago.

Authorities then gathered 90 divers, 50 of them foreigners, to help extract the boys out of a claustrophobic tunnel network that in some places was completely filled with water and so narrow that they could only be squeezed through.

The boys remain in quarantine but some of their parents have been able to see their children through the glass. Those evacuated so far have been taken to hospital in Chiang Rai for treatment and observation.

It is still unclear why the young coach chose to lead his boys some two-and-a-half miles into the forbidden cave system on the cusp of the rainy season, but when the group did become trapped he demonstrated leadership and maturity far beyond his years. "Such a handsome moment - all freed, great job!" he wrote.

A message posted on the English Premier League club's Twitter account said: "Our thoughts and prayers are with those affected".

Named "Wild Boar" after the stranded youth soccer team, the mini-submarine arrived at the cave Monday morning (July 9). Four more, plus the coach, are set to be brought out Tuesday.
