Joaquin Phoenix now officially confirmed as Joker

Joaquin Phoenix now officially confirmed as Joker”

The Clown Prince of Crime is the most popular and admired comic book villain of all time. Who's your favorite Joker actor from the Batman films over the years?

Reports suggest that this will be quite a low budget movie too, with a price around the $50-60m mark.

The currently-untitled film will have Todd Phillips at the helm, and will be executive produced by Martin Scorsese.

And now that the news is officially official, BossLogic has drawn up a piece of concept art that imagines Joaquin Phoenix in the title role.

"I see [a superhero movie] as any other movie", Phoenix continued. With shades of the classic Hitchcock character Norman Bates, the future Joker is more isolated and tortured even before suffering sudden loss after accepting the incredible responsibility of caring for his ailing mother alone. "So I wouldn't say, hands down, no - I wouldn't do that kind of movie".

Many have pointed to The Killing Joke as the basis for the film's origin story, but that seems to be questionable.

Warner Bros has confirmed Joker's stand-alone film starring award-winning actor Joaquin Phoenix is in the works.

He'll be better than Jared Leto in Suicide Squad, anyway.

The studio has yet to lock down a release date for this Joker origin movie just yet, but it's expected that it could be released in late 2019, assuming everything stays on schedule.
