Steven Gerrard: 'Rangers players must handle pressure'”

The powerful six foot three striker comes in for the full season of 2018/19 and he is Steven Gerrard's ninth capture of the summer so far.

In a bid to add strength to his team next season, Glasgow Rangers' Manager, Steven Gerrard remains hopeful a deal to sign Nigerian striker Umar Sadiq can be completed soonest, AOIFootball.com reports.

Rangers have completed the season-long loan signing of Mali global Lassana Coulibaly from French side Angers.

Rangers had until Friday night to submit their squad for the tie with Shkupi but Sadiq could still feature against the Macedonians if the paperwork can be completed before midnight on Wednesday.

The fans already seem to have given him an interesting nickname but I'll let you discover that for yourselves, I couldn't possible repeat the intimation here!

"But I'm confident that come kick-off the players will be ready to go".

Mali worldwide Coulibaly, who has been capped 10 times, admits the lure of playing for Gerrard was too good to turn down. "I know the team are in the Europa League and I know there is a big rivalry with Celtic".

"I am very happy to be here", Coulibaly told Rangers TV.

"He (Gerrard) can help me to develop my football".

"He asked me if I wanted to join his team, and I said yes, although I was anxious it wasn't actually Gerrard (on the phone)!" the Malian said.

Allan McGregor, Jon Flanagan, Scott Arfield, Jamie Murphy, Connor Goldson, Nikola Katic and Ovie Ejaria all joined earlier in the window.
