US President Donald Trump arrives in United Kingdom for four-day visit

US President Donald Trump arrives in United Kingdom for four-day visit”

Evie is also excited to see the planned "Trump baby" blimp which is due to fly over London and Scotland when he visits.

On Saturday, Trump supporters will rally near the USA embassy in Nine Elms, south London, for an event titled "Welcoming Trump to Britain Rally - Make Britain Great Again", at which a number of right-wing figures are scheduled to speak.

He added: "We'll see if they're still there in 10 years".

Trump will be using London as a base during his visit, Johnson added.

The dinner is Trump's official welcome to the United Kingdom during their first visit since Trump's election.

London Mayor Sadiq Khan, who signed off on the so-called "baby Trump" blimp, defended the decision Thursday, arguing the protests were not anti-American but emblematic of free speech.

"The UK loves me, in fact my mother was from the UK, they love me there even if they are not treating us well with trades, but they will", he said.

Trump is on a "working visit" rather than a full state occasion.

The people who started the campaign say that the balloon is a means to ensure that Trump "knows that all of Britain is looking down on him and laughing at him". Thousands of protesters were expected to gather outside the luxurious residence later Thursday. "So I think that's the effect the balloon will have".

The state visit was never actually scheduled - there has been fierce opposition to it in many quarters of Britain - and this trip is part of a working visit instead, meaning among other things that Mr. Trump will overnight at Winfield House, the USA ambassador's handsome residence near Regents Park, rather than at Buckingham Palace or Windsor Castle as a guest of the queen.

The bulk of the activity will take place in London, where people plan to gather first in Regent's Park outside of the USA ambassador's house on Thursday and again across central London for a series of protests throughout the day on Friday.

After spending the night at the United States ambassador's official residence in Regent's Park, London, the U.S. president will join the Theresa May at a military base on Friday to view a joint counter-terrorism exercise involving UK and USA special forces. After arriving in Great Britain Thursday evening, Trump and the first lady will dine with May and her husband at Blenheim Palace.

On Friday, May and Trump will hold talks on Brexit, relations with Russian Federation, and trade ties at the prime minister's Chequers country residence, followed by a press conference.

"Give us your tired and your oppressed and we'll divide you from your children", he said of Trump's policies.

"And I said Putin may be the easiest of them all", he continued.

Later, Trump will go to Windsor Castle for tea with 92-year-old Queen Elizabeth.

The two leaders will hold talks the following day at Chequers, the 16-century manor house which is the prime minister's official country residence.

Trump was making his first trip to Great Britain as president after a tense summit with North Atlantic Treaty Organisation leaders in Brussels that began Wednesday and on the heels of ruptures in May's government because of the crisis over Britain's exit from the European Union.
