Trump lobs Brexit verbal grenade at May”

President Trump is expected to avoid areas such as central London where the majority of demonstrators could gather.

The four-day trip, which will include talks with Prime Minister Theresa May, tea with Queen Elizabeth II and a private weekend in Scotland, is set to be greeted by a leftist-organised mass protest in London tomorrow.

Trump even went so far as to question whether May's plan constituted a true exit from the European Union: "The deal she is striking is a much different deal than the one the people voted on".

"There is no stronger alliance than that of our special relationship with the US and there will be no alliance more important in the years ahead", May said in a statement.

The president described Britain as a "hot spot" with "a lot of resignations", and added that his trip next week to Helsinki to meet President Putin may be comparatively easier.

"I would say Brexit is Brexit", he told reporters following a bruising North Atlantic Treaty Organisation summit.

May's proposal was finalised Friday and quickly sparked a slew of high-profile political resignations from her Cabinet, including Foreign Secretary Boris Johnson and Brexit Secretary David Davis, over concerns the plans would leave the United Kingdom too closely linked to the EU.

Such comments are likely to be seen as unwelcome by Mrs May, who has already faced significant political criticism for hosting Mr Trump. "I think he (Khan) has done a very bad job on terrorism", Trump told The Sun newspaper. She also said that it's an opportunity to strengthen cooperation on security.

They plan to loft a large blimp-like balloon over Westminster Palace, depicting a bronzed "Trump Baby" in a pair of nappies, clutching a cellphone. I have just been hearing this over the last three days.

Donald Trump delivered a snub to his host Theresa May, who hours before had laid on a prestigious dinner for the U.S. president at Blenheim Palace, the birthplace of Winston Churchill.

Donald Trump and his wife Melania are due to fly into the Essex airport early this afternoon before heading into London to meet with the US Ambassador at Winfield House then to attend dinner at Blenheim Palace.

The two leaders will hold talks at the Prime Minister's country residence of Chequers where Russia, Brexit and the Middle East will top the agenda.

During his news conference on Thursday, the U.S. president also appeared to refer to Ireland as part of the United Kingdom.

Ahead of his arrival, Michael Gove vowed to do his best to persuade Mr Trump about the threat from climate change.

Although he will visit the United States ambassador's residence, he is largely avoiding central London, where the largest protests are expected Friday.
