Man fired after swerving to hit puddles, splash unsuspecting pedestrians”

In the 45-second video, recorded on July 27 by another car's rear-facing dashboard camera, the driver is seen swerving into huge puddles by the curb and dousing four of the five pedestrians walking on the sidewalk.

The unnamed driver was captured on the dashcam of a auto in front veering across a main road and drenching three separate people in the Canadian capital, Ottawa.

Two days after video of the unnamed van driver's antics in Ottawa, Ontario, was posted on YouTube and went viral, his company publicly announced that he no longer works for them.

The video went viral shortly after it surfaced, getting over 700,000 views. Later in the day, it said that the driver of the van no longer had a job with the company.

The YouTube video has been viewed almost 1.3 million times since it was posted Friday.

The driver was caught on the dashcam of a auto in front as they veered across the roads to drive through the puddles.

The driver will not face criminal charges.

The driver's employer, construction firm Black and McDonald, apologized on its Facebook page, saying its driver's actions were "unacceptable".

Black & McDonald's Ali stressed the incident was an isolated one.

In the United Kingdom, there's a law against splashing pedestrians in the Road Traffic Act (1998), where it states that you can't drive "without reasonable consideration for other persons".

Sgt. Mark Gatien also confirmed Sunday afternoon on social media that the driver had been "terminated from the company".
