Apple has become the world's first trillion dollar company

Apple has become the world's first trillion dollar company”

And Apple faces strong competition from other technology companies.

It turns out that the high-priced iPhone X didn't turn off customers (unit sales were essentially flat year-over-year) as much as it raised the company's overall average selling prices.

Of course that's just what happened.

Shares of the company rose 3% Thursday, and are up about 31% over the past year.

Apple also released a kit for developers to create augmented-reality experiences on iPhones or iPads, saying that "overnight iOS became the biggest AR platform in the world".

Guy Kawasaki made history with Apple.

Apple is the first US company to hit the $1T milestone; here's why AAPL shares can climb even higher. Depending on who is doing calculations, the valuation of Saudi Aramco state-controlled oil and gas company is between $1.2 billion and $1.5 billion. But there is some interesting data in the report, which notes that the worldwide infrastructure as a service (IaaS) market increased 29.5 percent a year ago from $18.2 billion to $23.5 billion.

Apple is the first private sector company to reach this level.

Apple is an example of American-style capitalism done right. That also means the actual number of Apple shares may have fallen further since July 20, but most market observers go with the number reported in the 10-Q quarterly financial reports filed with the SEC. Apple is nearly worth more than Mexico's 2017 gross domestic product which was estimated at $1.142 trillion. The tech giant crossed the $1 trillion threshold when it hit $207.04 per share earlier this morning, though it has since trended down.

Like that's automatically a bad thing.

What makes it impressive is that Apple buys back a lot of its stock. Among them, inexplicably, is Microsoft, which has seen a stock price-and thus market cap-resurgence under CEO Satya Nadella, a man who is incongruously both feel-good and robotic.

But then, there could be others that could follow Apple in the highly-elite trillion-dollar club in the near future: Amazon, with its continuous surge in the past months, has zipped to No.2 with a market cap of $875.54 billion.
