Facebook removes 4 pages from InfoWars and Alex Jones”

Facebook has shut down InfoWars' page saying the conservative news outlet used hate speech. In a blog post Monday the social network said it removed four of Jones's pages for violating its community standards. Last month, Facebook suspended Jones for 30 days. If he doesn't, the pages will be banned permanently.

Jones has been widely criticized for promoting conspiracy theories surrounding the 2001 terrorist attack on the World Trade Center in NY and the 2012 mass shooting at Sandy Hook Elementary School in CT.

Neither Jones nor a representative for Infowars was available for comment.

Now Playing: Watch this: Facebook shuts down another misinformation campaign using.

Apple has wiped iTunes and its podcasting app virtually clean of content by Alex Jones, in one of the most aggressive moves by technology companies and streaming services against the conspiracy theorist and owner of the right-wing media platform Infowars.

Founded in 1999 and often described as "actually only a tiny bit worse than Fox News", InfoWars has over the years gained a large following among far right conservatives.

The theories he has promoted include that the September 11, 2001 attacks on NY and Washington were staged by the USA government.

Apple pointed Business Insider to the statement it provided BuzzFeed, in which it said that it notified Jones of its plans to pull the podcasts under its hate speech guidelines.

"Apple does not tolerate hate speech, and we have clear guidelines that creators and developers must follow to ensure we provide a safe environment for all of our users", the company said in a statement to The Washington Post.

It also said they represent various views if "people are respectful to those with differing opinions". Last week it removed just some specific programs. He is also a proponent of the "Pizzagate" conspiracy theory, claims Stoneman Douglas survivor David Hogg is a crisis actor, and says NFL players protesting during the National Anthem are "kneeling to white genocide" and violence against whites.

'We take reports of hate content seriously and review any podcast episode or song that is flagged by our community'.

"Due to repeated violations of Spotify's prohibited content policies, The Alex Jones Show has lost access to the Spotify platform", the representative said.

'Alex Jones has been responsible for harassing parents of Sandy Hook children, Vegas shooting victims and threatening to kill the Special Counsel.
