Manchester United face 'difficult' year if no more signings - Jose Mourinho

Manchester United face 'difficult' year if no more signings - Jose Mourinho”

Jose Mourinho has already failed in pricey moves for Leicester's Harry Maguire and Barcelona defender Yerry Mina, and while reports persist that United are still keen on Toby Alderweireld, his attentions have now turned to a fourth option.

There has even been speculation of a swap deal involving wantaway United forward Anthony Martial and Boateng ahead of the 2018/19 campaign.

Sportsmail reported last week that the 29-year-old had been offered to United after his move to Paris Saint-Germain collapsed.

"It will get worked out and I would hope Jose is part of that working it out because he is incredibly skilled and he's demonstrated he can do things".

"Mourinho is the best manager I've ever worked with".

Manuel Neuer insisted that Boateng would be "missed" at Bayern were he to leave and Alaba echoed his sentiments.

'We'd all be sad, ' said the Austrian.

Manchester United manager Jose Mourinho has warned that the club could be in for a "difficult season" without any further additions to the squad in the final days of the summer transfer window.

Speaking to MUTV, the 55 year old Portuguese boss stated that he would find it hard for United this season, "The other clubs that compete with us are really strong or they have already fantastic squads like Chelsea, Spurs, City, or they are investing massively like for example Liverpool buying everything and everybody, If we don't make our team better it will be a hard season for us".

"My CEO knows what I want for quite a long time", Mourinho is quoted as saying by Sky Sports.

"Or they are investing massively like Liverpool, that are buying everything and everybody".

It was a hard season at Old Trafford for Pogba previous year, but he ended it on a high being a key player for France as they lifted the World Cup in Russian Federation.
