Colorado Man Confesses He Killed His Missing Pregnant Wife And Two Daughters”

A father in the U.S. state of Colorado has been denied bail after his arrest following the disappearance of his pregnant wife and two young daughters.

Christopher Watts was held under investigation of three counts of first degree murder and three counts of tampering with evidence, according to Denver7.

Police say they arrested her husband, Chris Watts, on Wednesday.

Authorities said the husband of a missing family in Colorado has been arrested in connection with the case.

A friend and colleague of Shanann's, Amanda Thayer, said the pregnant mum left all of her personal belongings, including her phone, wallet and purse, inside the house.

The friend, Lauren Arnold, told 9NEWS she learned Wednesday the missing mother - who was 15 weeks pregnant - and the girls were believed to be dead.

Police arrested Watts just before midnight Wednesday, and on Thursday announced the discovery of a body believed to be that of Shannan, according to Weld County District Attorney Michael Rourke.

A man believed to be Shanann's brother, Frankie Rzucek, shared his rage and sadness at her killing on Facebook.

"I just want 30 seconds alone with that heartless psychopath".

"She said she was going to a friend's house with the kids and that's the last thing I heard, and that was it".

Shanann, a Moore County, North Carolina native, and her daughters have been missing since Monday.

"If somebody has her and they're not safe, I want them back now", he said.

Shortly after, the Federal Bureau of Investigation and Colorado Bureau of Investigation became involved to help the local department with what Albert described as "a case of this magnitude".

"Chris, we are so incredibly blessed to have you!" she wrote on Facebook on Father's Day.

Shanann Watts, 34, and her two daughters ages 3 and 4 were reported missing.

The post was accompanied by a selfie showing Shanann smiling into the camera and pointing to a square pink-and-white sticker on her chest. He has not yet been charged, and it wasn't immediately known if he had a lawyer. Her comments are typically upbeat and say how happy she is, whether she's running errands, playing with her kids or promoting a health program.

Chris Watts spoke previously with Denver TV outlets about missing his family and his hopes for their safe return. Police have not released any details about a possible motive or when, where and how Shanann and her daughters were killed.

The disappearance triggered an alert from authorities, with the Federal Bureau of Investigation joining the case on August 15.
