"We don't want to land on the FATF's black list because it would have a negative impact on Pakistan", he said.

"I am not talking about a revolution in our relation but just suggesting that we should hold talks and don't think if we would make progress or not", he said, adding that an "enabling environment" should be created.

He said that in his "opinion there is no other option, (but resuming talks)".

The Pakistani foreign minister said Pakistan's "strained ties" with the US have seen highs and lows and that the new government is determined to work to improve the relationship.

The Prime Minister said this during telephonic conversation with US Secretary of State, Mike Pompeo.

Answering another question, he said that Kashmir was still the core issue between Pakistan and India. He said that oversees Pakistanis were our great asset and they should create a suitable environment and highlight soft image of Pakistan at global level.

Qureshi urged media to play effective role in image and narrative building of the country.

Regarding austerity drive of Prime Minister Imran Khan, he said that the foreign minister would not stay in 5-star hotels during his visits overseas and would prefer to stay in Pakistani missions.
