Judge Nap: Booker Will 'Absolutely Not' Be Disciplined for Releasing Kavanaugh Email”

Richard Blumenthal of CT, "selecting a justice on the Supreme Court who potentially will cast a decisive vote in his own case".

Texas Sen. John Cornyn said that if Booker went ahead he would commit an offense that would be tantamount to releasing classified information.

Members of the Senate Judiciary Committee each had 30 minutes to ask Kavanaugh questions. Senator Mazie Hirono (D-HI) also released committee confidential documents Thursday morning, writing on Twitter that "they show that Judge Kavanaugh wrongly believes that Native Hawaiian programs are Constitutionally questionable". Mike Lee, a Republican from Utah, to release of some of the Bush-era documents. Democrats released the email, as well as others detailing the nominee's views on racial profiling, despite loud protests from their Republican counterparts on the committee.

Gonzales sent an email on January 17, 2002, addressing the issue of racial profiling in airport security.

Booker's fellow Democrats expressed support.

"This is about the closest I'll ever have in my life to an "I am Spartacus" moment", Booker said.

"You've been speaking for nearly eight hours to this committee about all sorts of things you remember", Harris said. And let's just into this together.

Republicans will hold a slim 51-49 majority in the Senate once Jon Kyl, the former Arizona senator, is sworn in to fill the seat held by the late Sen. Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer (R-N.Y.) and Minority Whip Dick Durbin (R-Ill.) as well as Sens. He isn't. He said he could be expelled from the Senate for his act of bravery.

Outside the hearing room, Booker told reporters he doesn't actually expect Cornyn to pursue charges that he violated the rule but that he'll accept responsibility if he does.

In the hearing, Booker referenced a handful of documents and emails from Kavanaugh's time as a White House counsel, during which Kavanaugh discussed racial profiling among other topics.

In his days before the committee, Kavanaugh has declined to answer questions about how he would handle investigations of the executive branch and whether he would step aside if cases involving Trump under Mueller's probe end up at the court.

"I am not sure that all legal scholars refer to Roe as the settled law of the land at the Supreme Court level since Court can always overrule its precedent, and three current Justices on the Court would do so", he wrote, referring to justices at the time, in an email to a Republican Senate aide. Planned Parenthood, which confirmed Roe, was "precedent on precedent".

Before the hearing even officially began, Democrats tried to put a stop to it, complaining that they had not received thousands of documents related to Kavanaugh's background, and that thousands of pages that they did receive were not turned over to them until the night before.

During his confirmation hearing on Wednesday, Kavanaugh addressed the Roe decision, calling it "an important precedent of the Supreme Court that has been reaffirmed many times".

The hearing's focus on Wednesday on presidential power came amid a widening probe by Special Counsel Robert Mueller into Russian meddling in the 2016 U.S. election and turmoil within the White House, clouding the presidency of Trump, who is working to get more conservative judges appointed to the federal courts.

But in an exchange with Sen. Kamala Harris (D-Calif.) on Wednesday. The firm in question was founded by Marc Kasowitz, who has represented Trump. To make her mark on the hearings, Harris demonstrated her past as a prosecutor, highlighting her ability to ask tough questions and make opponents squirm under pressure.

Once the hearing got underway, Democrats continued to voice their concerns, often going back to the issue of missing documents and Kavanaugh's political history.
