US Top Court Nominee Kavanaugh Facing More Questions

US Top Court Nominee Kavanaugh Facing More Questions”

A senator who might vote to confirm Brett Kavanaugh to the Supreme Court has received 3000 coat hangers in protest.

From releasing documents to hearing room theatrics, Vice President Mike Pence believes some Democrats "embarrassed themselves" with their many attempts to derail the confirmation hearing for Judge Brett Kavanaugh.

The group alleges that Kavanaugh committed perjury during his hearings before the Senate Judiciary Committee last week.

"This is a travesty of justice!"

Minutes later, three more women - the activists were almost all women - were removed as they shouted "Vote no on Kavanaugh!" and "My daughter has the right to choose!"

But if that T-shirt was symbolic of Kavanaugh's effort to show his support for women and their influence on his professional life, the many protesters at the hearings spoke to another reality regarding the Supreme Court nominee and women.

Garland will be tasked with deciding whether or not to pursue any charges against Kavanaugh or whether or not he wants to appoint a special set of jurists who will then make the decision whether or not to investigate Kavanaugh's potential perjury. Most of those charged this week with disorderly conduct, crowding or obstructing paid fines of $35 or $50.

Supreme Court nominee Brett Kavanaugh testifies during the third day of his confirmation hearing before the Senate Judiciary Committee on Capitol Hill in Washington, U.S., September 6, 2018. Now that man might be deciding the fate of Donald Trump's SCOTUS nominee.

"The Supreme Court is too important to rush the confirmation process forward to meet a political schedule, and the confirmation process is too important to ignore the possibility that a nominee may have lied to the Senate. So how do you square that with the idea that-with what you've said?". Kavanaugh on Thursday defended the electronic mail as an outline of his views on the Supreme Court's likely purchase on the matter. That led Durbin and his Democratic colleagues including Richard Blumenthal of Connecticut, Cory Booker of New Jersey, and California's Kamala Harris to try repeatedly to get at just how loyal Kavanaugh would be to Trump, and the answer was: extremely.

The only problem for those of us who would like to see Booker out of the Senate is that the material had already been cleared for release to the media, so charges leading to Booker's expulsion from the Senate would not hold up.

Unfazed, Booker responded, "Apply the rule and bring the charges". At the hearing, I think, on Tuesday, I think we had 60 or 70 people carried out as arrests during the hearing.

Carla Beddard, 34, was one of 15 women who silently walked the halls outside Kavanaugh's hearing dressed in the red cloaks and white bonnets worn by persecuted women in "The Handmaid's Tale", a dystopian novel and television series. It stated that "it is widely accepted by legal scholars across the board that Roe v. Wade and its progeny are the settled law of the land". As for Republicans and their massive cover-up of documents in this nomination, Dean was succinct: "Frankly I'm surprised that Judge Kavanaugh has not demanded every document that he's ever handled to be reviewed by this committee".

"While the Garza v. Hargan case has been frequently cited by groups such as Planned Parenthood and NARAL as evidence that Kavanaugh will be hostile to reproductive rights and could even vote to overturn Roe v. Wade, Garza believes his rulings in her case case reveal his possible hostility to the rights of people in detention rather than to reproductive rights generally".
