Bob Woodward: 'People Need To Wake Up' To What's Happening Under Trump

Bob Woodward: 'People Need To Wake Up' To What's Happening Under Trump”

The op-ed was published a day after excerpts from Fear: Trump in the White House, an upcoming exposé by veteran journalist Bob Woodward, began circulating-detailing similar concerns raised by top officials including Chief of Staff John Kelly and Defense Secretary James Mattis.

The back-and-forth over the debt was just the first clash between Cohn and Trump on economic policy, according to Woodward's book.

"Have you ever done one of these books, know you talked to a source and the source comes out publicly after the publication and says, 'That's not true, '" Guthrie asked. Democrats can't stand losing. Trump has personally taken offense to the book's contents, which he described as "another assault against me".

In particular, he highlighted an instance in which Trump complained to Defense Secretary James Mattis and other staff at an NSC meeting about the expense of USA forces overseas.

"If I did I would not have been elected president".

People like Christie probably don't want to spend all their time litigating each quote, which is perhaps understandable. In August 2017, the New York Times reported that Cohn had drafted a resignation letter over Trump referred to white supremacists in Charlottesville as "very fine people". Trump raised the specter of launching a criminal investigation into the matter last week, suggesting the Justice Department look into who wrote the unnamed editorial. But Trump's attacks may have backfired after the Woodward's publisher said Monday it had reprinted his book an astounding six times before it's even gone on sale to the public.

When pressed further about who he thinks the President can still trust, Trump Jr. declined to answer definitively but reaffirmed he believes President Trump still trusts his daughter Ivanka Trump and his son-in-law Jared Kushner, both White House advisors.

Woodward's book is based on "deep background" interviews, which he defines in his book as interviews where "all the information could be used but I would not say who provided it".

Before Trump got to the Oval Office, he sent out those infamous tweets announcing the transgender military ban. We're in Crazytown. I don't even know why any of us are here.

Trump waged Twitter war on Woodward, calling the journalist who helped expose the Watergate scandal a "Dem operative" and a liar who "makes up stories".

He said people in Trump's administration are anxious that the president will sign things or give orders that threaten US or world security and finances.

Like the rest of the establishment media, as we head into the midterms, Woodward seems desperate to keep everyone's eye off of the results of Trump's management style, which have been an unqualified success.

"His non-stop, self-centered leaking is why Steve was sacked from the White House in the first place", Christie added.
