Nintendo Direct Rescheduled, Switch Online Launches September 18

Nintendo Direct Rescheduled, Switch Online Launches September 18”

Personally I'd rather see that time devoted exclusive to games, and indulge a separate Direct for Nintendo Switch Online alone, but I am looking forward to finally learning more about the service.

Nintendo has announced their Switch Online memberships will launch in Canada, the U.S. and beyond on September 18, 2018.

So if you want to play some co-op Splatoon 2 or maybe some ARMS, then you'll need one of these.

You'll be able to play Super Mario Bros.

But the cloud saving details leaked out anyway, as did the name of the new Yoshi game, a new Ubisoft party game, and reveals of Civilization VI and Final Fantasy XV: Mobile Edition for Switch. Native voice chat was incorporated into the port of Fortnite, so we know it's at least possible with the Switch.

According to Nintendo's site, individual plans will go for about $4 a month, and $20 for a year.

Memberships can be purchased from the Nintendo eShop or through Amazon, Best Buy or GameStop.

As an important aside, Nintendo Accounts will be permanently linked to Nintendo Switch user accounts after the Nintendo Switch firmware update. You also have the option of a family subscription. More information on all of this will be revealed tomorrow during the Nintendo Direct.
