Jose Mourinho once again gets angry with media

Jose Mourinho once again gets angry with media”

Doing the same at his club won't be quite so easy.

Marcus Rashford wants to stay at Manchester United and fight for a first-team spot, according to the Sun. Romoelu Lukaku is indisputably the first-choice central striker, and Rashford often struggles when he is accommodated on the right of United's attack.

"But again, media is very important and I think it's important the Manchester United supporters know the truth".

"He is (a special talent)", the England manager said, as quoted by FourFourTwo.

Mourinho also joked that he will still be criticised for not starting Rashford even though the forward is suspended for Saturday's game against Watford.

Rashford started both global matches in his favored position as a central striker, benefiting from attacker Raheem Sterling's withdrawal because of injury.

Comments on Mourinho's use of Rashford have stemmed from the manager's previous failures to push through young players, especially at Chelsea, who have one of the best academies in England which has won the past five FA Youth Cups.

Figures from football statisticians Opta show no player now aged under 21 has played more competitive minutes for a Premier League team than Rashford (7,280) since his debut in February 2016.

"I don't know [if he will play]", said Mourinho.

The issue, however, with Rashford, is not that he isn't playing at all - he evidently is - but it is his position. Starts on the wing might be scarce, too.

Rashford's lack of starts at Old Trafford has been a hot topic in recent days after the 20-year-old scored in both of England's matches over the worldwide break, with Jamie Carragher among those suggesting he needs to leave United to reach his full potential.

Like with so many others in the England squad, though, that confidence can only be maintained if Rashford plays for his club, no matter what he has achieved so far and the impressive comparisons he has drawn.

'Last season, he played poorly against Brighton, Mourinho had a pop at him and Lukaku went straight back in the next game.

Mourinho then read from the sheet. Sanchez is United's marquee player along with Paul Pogba. There's no outward sign of any resentment from Rashford, but will he continue to be content being a so-called "super-sub"?

Jamir Carragher was one of those to have his say, suggesting that Rashford might have to leave United in order to become a "world-class" player. At this stage in his career, he needs to be starting games.

BBC Sport's Simon Stone has analysed Rashford's playing time under Mourinho, including his four appearances this season, which the manager omitted from his total (5,744).

Rashford is still raw - his final ball can be poor and his finishing sometimes lets him down - and he makes mistakes, but he is clearly a player for the big occasion.
