Manuel Pellegrini denies Lucas Perez rift”

West Ham United manager, Manuel Pellegrini said the 3-1 victory at Everton on Sunday that moved his side off the foot of the Premier League table was the flawless way to celebrate his 65th birthday.

West Ham manager Manuel Pellegrini made six changes to the team that lost to Wolverhampton Wanderers two weeks ago, with Yarmolenko handed his first league start. The former Arsenal forward looked disgruntled on the bench and there were reports he refused to warm up.

'In my current club the players on the bench warm up in a series of three to five minutes, in continuous rotation. When Marko was injured, I was on the bench after having warmed up.

But Pellegrini explained that, while he planned to bring Perez on, he changed his mind once he saw Antonio standing ready to enter.

"The images that have been misinterpreted correspond to a talk with the goalkeeper coach, in which I never refused to warm up and explain what happened".

"As a professional, I accept the decision and I will continue working hard to have as many minutes as I can". Antonio was ready so we were not delayed, so I put Antonio on. We've worked for two fantastic weeks of hard training, the boys have been away on global duty. Noble says: "We spoke openly after the Wolves game with each other".

Yarmolenko scored his second goal of the game with a spectacular shot from the edge of the box on the half hour mark to double West Ham's lead. "I don't have any problem with the player".

Moyes, who has been out of management since saving West Ham United from relegation last season, has been linked to the opening, which has been filled by caretaker Dave Sarachan for the past 10 months.
