The trailer also showcases Lin-Manuel Miranda as Jack, a lamplighter and Poppins pal who calls back to Dick Van Dyke's Bert from the 1964 movie. The film also features a musical score by Marc Shaiman, with all new original songs with music by Shaiman and lyrics by Scott Wittman and Shaiman.

Set 25 years after the original film (which confirms that Mary is an ageless wonder), Mary Poppins Returns will see the well-dressed nanny once again visiting London's No. 17 Cherry Tree Lane, which is now home to all-grown-up Michael Banks (Ben Whishaw), who's grieving the loss of his wife and struggling to keep himself (and his three kids) afloat in the face of encroaching ruin.

To say this holiday season is one crowded marketplace is an understatement.

'Mary Poppins Returns' is slated for release worldwide on 19 December 2018.

The trailer opens with Michael and Jane going through some of their old childhood things, including a kite, which Michael's son Georgie (Joel Dawson) is later seen flying with Jack.
