Batwoman appears! See the first Ruby Rose photo from Arrowverse crossover”

Just to stoke the hype fire, following the reveal of Ruby Rose in her Batwoman costume, Arrow star Stephen Amell revealed to his followers online how the Elseworlds event will begin. The crossover will introduce Batwoman, aka Kate Kane, to the ever-expanding Arrowverse, and serve as a backdoor pilot for a standalone Batwoman series.

"Growing up watching TV, I never saw somebody I could identify with, let alone a superhero", Ruby Rose said of the casting news this summer on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon.

Production on the crossover commences Tuesday in Vancouver. It's pretty chic, which isn't surprising considering it's been designed by Oscar victor Colleen Atwood. Decades later, she was rebooted as Kate Kane, an openly lesbian superhero. And we don't know yet what Earth that Batwoman's Gotham City is set on, but with this crossover being Elseworlds-related, practically anything is possible.

Today also marks the first day of filming for the crossover, which will combine Arrow, The Flash, and Supergirl, and will play out over three nights, starting Sunday, December 9.

It's a pretty spot on take on Kate's iconic look in the comics - especially the flowing hair coming out of the back of her cowl - even if the lower part of the suit has been a little more streamlined.

Check out Rose in all her Batwoman glory below.
