Eagles RB Jay Ajayi Tore His ACL, Is Out For The Year

Eagles RB Jay Ajayi Tore His ACL, Is Out For The Year”

The Philadelphia Eagles haven't had the best start to their season and it just got worse.

- Adam Schefter (@AdamSchefter) October 8, 2018Roster Move: #Eagles have placed RB Jay Ajayi on Injured Reserve and claimed DT T.Y. McGill.

Ajayi was leading the Eagles with 184 yards and three touchdowns on 45 carries, making his injury a crushing blow to the defending champions' offense.

The Eagles could also venture into the free agent market to add more depth at the position for the next couple of weeks as their crop of running backs gets more healthy. If not, I'm avoiding breaking my FAAB bank on one of them in case I'm wrong about the other.

According to ESPN, Ajayi tore his ACL.

NFL Network Insider Ian Rapoport reported that there is interest in a homecoming for McCoy, but it remains to be seen if the two sides can make a deal work.

In case you were wondering, no, it is not a coincidence that the Eagles fixed up the cap on Monday night.

That information, though, could have been gleaned from a source with the Eagles interested in either maintaining leverage for eventual trade talks with the Steelers or possibly concerned about the morale of the running backs still active with the team.
