Selena Gomez reportedly hospitalised in mental health facility

Selena Gomez reportedly hospitalised in mental health facility”

Which brings us to Wednesday, when TMZ reported Gomez was hospitalized twice in the past two weeks, after having experienced an "emotional breakdown".

While the 26-year-old was reportedly released a few days later, TMZ noted that she had to be readmitted sometime during the beginning of October due to her still-low white blood cell count. Sources claim that she wanted to leave but was told by doctors she couldn't.

She is said to be now receiving dialectical behaviour therapy (DBT) which is used to treat various mental health disorders and is something she has had in the past.

Gomez has frequently been open with both her mental and physical health, including her lupus diagnosis. The therapy treats various mental health disorders.

A source confirmed to UsWeekly Selena "is now resting and getting treatment for a series of panic attacks related to ongoing medical issues".

DBT is a cognitive behavioural treatment used to give patients skills to manage painful experiences, according to Psychology Today. She's surrounded by close family and has a lot of support.

Selena Gomez has entered a treatment facility in Los Angeles to deal with ongoing issues related to anxiety and depression. Representatives for the singer/actress/model have yet to confirm, but Gomez has been on a social media hiatus for several weeks.

Soon after this news broke, Selena's fans started sending out wishes for her speedy recovery.

"Selena has been trying really hard recently to remain focused and not let her health affect her", a third insider said.

"I was diagnosed with lupus, and I've been through chemotherapy". She wrote: "Just remember- negative comments can hurt anybody's feelings".

Selena's ex, Justin Bieber, who married model Hailey Baldwin months after their break-up, is said to be "upset" about the news.
