Jimmy Butler and Glen Taylor come to agreement about playing, future trade

Jimmy Butler and Glen Taylor come to agreement about playing, future trade”

Would a team be comfortable paying him that much at that age?

"I think that's the $100,000 question", said Jackson, the former All-Star point guard and Golden State Warriors coach. One of those was Jimmy Butler, and there ended the normalcy. It's if you give him that extension at 34 years old, making that kind of money, it can really handcuff your franchise. That really makes it tough.

For his part, Wiggins had praise for Butler, telling reporters Sunday (via the Minneapolis Star Tribune), "All I know is, when we start playing the real games, Jimmy is someone you want on your team".

But now, Wolves fans are receiving assurances that their favorite club remains intent on moving Butler, despite all the evidence to the contrary, including head coach Tom Thibodeau's apparent comfort with allowing this awkward and irresponsible situation to fester well into the regular season.

"I'm not at all convinced that every team, like Miami, that they would do that", Van Gundy said. "It ain't going to change the way I play", Butler, 29, said Sunday to Jon Krawczynski of The Athletic.

Certainly, the Timberwolves will be better with Butler, who averaged 22.2 points, 5.3 rebounds and two steals per game in last season after being acquired in a four-player trade with the Chicago Bulls last summer. Butler, though, does not seem concerned that his teammates won't accept him. According to Krawczynski, they arrived at an agreement in which Taylor pledged to "continue to work diligently to find a trade as soon as possible", and until that happens, Butler is supposed to be "a good teammate" and continue to "play as hard as he always does".

Thibodeau said the Wolves are a better team with Butler playing, and maybe that's enough for now.

Speaking to Twin Cities media for the first time since ending a de facto holdout last Wednesday, Butler was amicably engaging with inquisitors but said nothing to change the awkward reality facing Minnesota's National Basketball Association franchise: Their best player has requested a trade, and the team either can't or won't oblige. But the idea to trade for Jimmy Butler? Miami has stuff you can count on: depth, great defense, move the ball. "They just aren't as talented".

So without further ado, let's take a closer look at how the Bucks performed individually as they returned home for their final preseason action before the regular season gets underway.

"I feel like that is professional sports, though".
