Mourinho gets FA charge for 'abusive language' in Newcastle win

Mourinho gets FA charge for 'abusive language' in Newcastle win”

Nemanja Matic remains a doubt for Manchester United ahead of the trip to Chelsea on Saturday, Sky Sports News understands. After being down 2-0, the Red Devils needed a second-half resurgence to complete their victory.

Mourinho could potentially face a touchline ban if found guilty.

Having being charged using abusive language, Mourinho now has until 6pm on Friday to appeal the charge.

The Portuguese coach was reported to have directed an insult in his native language towards a camera which was live tracking him down the touchline after his side's 3-2 comeback win at Old Trafford.

Television cameras captured Mourinho muttering what are purported to have been "abusive and/or insulting and/or improper" remarks.

The Ivorian defender started the season as one of the first-choice in the central defensive department but he has fallen down the pecking order with just three Premier League starts from the opening eight matches.

"Jose Mourinho has been charged following Manchester United's game against Newcastle United on October 6, 2018", read an FA statement. Chelsea will undoubtedly be an acid test for Manchester United, who are struggling to act as a strong unit, and the absence of Mourinho will add to their crisis.

The Italian media outlet are claiming the Red Devils have been in contact with the Juventus boss's entourage about the possibility of coming to the Premier League.
