Powerball ticket sold in East Wareham worth $1 million”

Two national lottery games - Mega Millions and Powerball - are sporting huge jackpots, topping a billion in total combined winnings.

A Massachusetts Powerball player was one of three people nationwide to come away with $1 million Wednesday night after the person's ticket matched all five numbers selected, officials said.

Here are the winning numbers in the most recent drawing: 3, 57, 64, 68, 69 and the Powerball number was 15. Winners include Ashley Eggen of Elizabethtown, who won a $1 million prize in the Mega Millions drawing on October 8.

Seven-time lottery game grand prize victor Richard Lustig tips on his advice to win the Mega Million and Powerball jackpots.

On top of that, Ascienzo adds, Mega Millions also doubled its ticket price to $2, which has also contributed to the growth. The Mega Millions jackpot for Friday's drawing stands at $900 million - that's the second largest lottery jackpot in US history.

Lottery officials have urged winners to take a deep breath, put their winning ticket in a safe spot, and consult with a reputable financial planner before popping over to the lottery headquarters, according to The Associated Press.
