Red Dead Redemption 2 achieves single biggest opening weekend within entertainment's History

Red Dead Redemption 2 achieves single biggest opening weekend within entertainment's History”

As no strangers to ridiculous record-breaking launches, Rockstar Games has proudly revealed that Red Dead Redemption 2 has enjoyed the biggest opening weekend in retail entertainment history, among a bunch of other accolades. What a huge success.

It previously took Grand Theft Auto V well over a year to arrive to PC, after initially only coming to Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3.

Red Dead Redemption 2 may not be flawless, but its minor shortcomings are like tiny blemishes on a stunningly handsome face.

"Rockstar Games is proud to announce that the critically acclaimed Red Dead Redemption 2 has achieved the single-biggest opening weekend in the history of entertainment", says the company in a chest-thumping press release.

According to Rockstar (via Business Wire), Red Dead Redemption 2 is the second highest grossing entertainment launch of all time, beaten only by Rockstar's flagship series, Grand Theft Auto V - which grossed $1 billion in its first three days.

Red Dead Redemption II is also the most pre-ordered full game ever on the PlayStation Network, and claimed the biggest day one and three-day sales ever on Sony's online service. Thats a huge achievement.

"Red Dead Redemption 2" is now the highest critically reviewed game on the PlayStation 4, with an average score of 97 on Metacritic, and the top game on Xbox One, also with an average score of 97 on Metacritic.
