The Mac mini is back with a much needed update”

The graphics performance has also been boosted and the new Mac mini is 60% more powerful when it comes to graphically-intensive tasks than its predecessor.

Every single Mac Mini enclosure will be made of 100 percent recycled aluminum.

Quite surprisingly, unlike its laptops, Apple is actually paying attention to the connectivity of the new Mac mini.

Apple has put several I/O ports on the all-new Mac mini, with four Thunderbolt 3 USB Type-C (v3.1) ports (twice as many as the previous generation), one HDMI 2.0 port, two USB Type-A (v3.0) ports, an audio jack, and Gigabit Ethernet, with a 10Gb Ethernet option.

Apple announced a new Mac Mini at an event in Brooklyn today. Apple claims that "together these advancements help to reduce the carbon footprint of the new Mac mini by almost 50%".

In many ways, the Mac mini still serves that objective today.

Apple has managed to pack all of these improvements into a shell that's exactly the same size as the previous Mac mini's.

Configurations start from Intel's 8th Generation quad-core Core i3 processors and go up to six-core Core i7 chips running at 3.2 GHz/4.6 GHz. Buyers also have SSD storage options up to 2TB.

Mac mini has all the ports you expect from a desktop. Pre-orders open today, shipping November 7.

The T2 chip also features HEVC video transcoding that's up to 30 times faster, which will be great news for video editors who are interested in using a Mac mini 2018 for their creative work.

The entry config has a 128GB SSD, 8GB of RAM and a quad-core processor for $799. This is an update that was a long time coming, but it seems the wait was worth it.
