London Police Arrest 6 Men in Grenfell Tower Effigy Video”

Labour MP Emma Dent Coad, in whose Kensington constituency Grenfell Tower resides, was a part of an online effort to identify those in the video. Now they've been arrested.

Two of the men are aged 49, while the other individuals are aged 19, 46 and 55.

"Five men have been arrested on suspicion of a public order offence in connection with an investigation into a video posted online that showed an effigy of Grenfell Tower being burnt", Scotland Yard police headquarters said in a statement.

A video shared on social media shows a cardboard model of the tower being set alight by a laughing crowd.

Among the derogatory comments was shouted "You'll be all right, don't worry. stay in your flat" - a reference to the fatal advice given to residents as the disaster unfolded a year ago.

But one caller thought that the video was entertaining.

Another member of the bonfire group can be heard saying that the fire "started on the 10th floor" and that they should have placed the box "upside down".

One person shouts "jump out the window" while another offers the original fire brigade advice before the scale of the tragedy was understood, saying "stay in your flats".

"The community is stronger together and even this vile act by flag-waving, intellectually challenged, brainwashed sheep won't derail the fight for justice, nor will it knock us off our stride as we walk forward, in dignity, in unity, in solidarity".

Although the total number of people involved in the video is still unknown, a chorus of laughter can be heard as the effigy eventually goes up in flames. The St. George's Cross flag is the flag of England, with the Union flag representing the United Kingdom.

London Mayor Sadiq Khan voiced his disgust, saying, "I utterly condemn this sickening video".

In the video horrific comments and jokes were made about the victims of the fire represented on the bonfire - angering and devastating hundreds of people on social media.

She said: "To disrespect those who lost their lives at Grenfell Tower, as well as their families and loved ones, is utterly unacceptable". It also urged anyone present at the gathering to come forward.

He added: "So many people lost so many loved ones, and many more have been deeply affected". To mock the disaster in such a crude way is vile. "We hope that the police are taking this seriously", while Justice4Grenfell said it "caused great alarm and distress".
