Queen Elizabeth invites Meghan Markle's mom to United Kingdom for Christmas

Queen Elizabeth invites Meghan Markle's mom to United Kingdom for Christmas”

According to both the Express and the Daily Mail, Queen Elizabeth II has invited Meghan Markle's mother, Doria Ragland, to join the Royal Family's Christmas festivities at Sandringham.

A royal source said that the move was "a very thoughtful gesture", and quite unique to be honest.

While Kate's family has joined them at church on Christmas morning, they've never stayed at the Norfolk estate.

The source is reported to have said that the Queen's invitation showed respect and acknowledged that Meghan would be spending Christmas away from family in Britain.

Not that it should come as a surprise really, given how well Doria seems to get on with the other royals - if you remember she was a hit with Charles at the wedding of Meghan to Prince Harry, and she also went along when Meghan launched her first charity initiative, the cookbook for the victims of the Grenfell Disaster.

Doria took her place beside her new extended family in the official wedding portraits.

Megan is very close with his mother.

The 62-year-old, who now lives in Los Angeles, has been described by the Duchess of Sussex as a "free-spirited clinical therapist" who often took her travelling to remote places when she was younger.

Royal.uk.com even states about Queen Elizabeth's role in government, that, she is to "remain strictly neutral with respect to political matters" and is 'unable to vote or stand for election'.

The 74-year-old former lighting director has courted controversy over multiple interviews he has given over Meghan and the royals.

Mr Markle was due to walk his daughter down the aisle but pulled out at the last minute after it emerged he had staged paparazzi pictures in the days prior to it.

A spokesperson for Buckingham Palace declined to comment today.
