Virat Kohli may have violated central contract after 'leave India' remark: BCCI

Virat Kohli may have violated central contract after 'leave India' remark: BCCI”

Virat Kohli may not be featuring in the T20I series against Windies but he has embroiled himself in a fresh controversy following his response to a fan, who said he enjoyed watching English and Australian batsmen.

The video, available on Kohli's recently-launched app, shows him expressing his disapproval after a fan called him an "over-rated batsman" and that he prefers watching English and Australian batsmen instead. Swamy took to Twitter and his post read, "What is wrong if Virat Kohli tells a questioner (who tells him that he enjoys watching foreign cricketers more that Indian cricketers) that he should migrate overseas?"

"Virat needs to understand that if the fans go away to other countries, then no Puma etc. will want to sign him for Rs100 crores. Get your priorities right", Kohli replied. Social media users were quick to point out Kohli's "arrogance" and believed Tendulkar, with whom Kohli is compared these days, would have never reacted like Kohli. The words definitely didn't go down well with the Delhi-born cricketer and he bashed the fan, mentioning that he should leave India if he doesn't like the Indian players.

Responding to the backlash, the cricket champ turned to Twitter saying: "I guess trolling isn't for me guys, I'll stick to getting trolled!" The BCCI's revenue will fall, and consequently the players' fees. Seasoned cricket expert and commentator Harsha Bhogle in a tweet said "Virat Kohli's statement is a reflection of the bubble that most famous people either slip into or are forced into". He should walk the talk and support the BCCI's partners rather than focusing on private endorsements.

Kohli scored 453 runs in the recently concluded one day global series against West Indies.
