Trump says he has finished answering Mueller probe questions

Trump says he has finished answering Mueller probe questions”

"Now, the questions were very routinely answered by me".

President Trump said Friday that he had finished writing answers form the Russian Federation probe but had not yet submitted them to special counsel Robert Mueller.

Mueller had signaled a willingness to accept written answers on matters of collusion. And Mueller's office asked a federal court in Washington, DC, for an extension on the sentencing of Rick Gates, the former Trump campaign deputy chairman, until January - a sign that Gates still has a significant amount of information for prosecutors.

Mueller, who took over the investigation in May 2017, is investigating whether members of Trump's campaign conspired with Russian Federation in the 2016 election and whether Trump has unlawfully sought to obstruct the probe, which has cast a cloud over his presidency.

He told reporters in the Oval Office Friday that he - and not his lawyers - wrote the answers and that it "didn't take very long to do them". The president has repeatedly denied any such collusion with Moscow.

"You have to always be careful when you answer questions with people that probably have bad intentions, " said Trump in his latest swipe at the integrity of the probe.

Trump said he suspected some of the questions were created to be pitfalls and catch him in a "perjury trap" - to induce to him to lie about matters for which prosecutors might already have contradictory evidence. "I'm working on them", he said, later adding later that he wrote the answers himself and that he "just finished them". Very easily. I'm sure they are tricked up because you know they like to catch people. They are a disgrace to our Nation and don' how many lives the (sic) ruin.

He went on to say the Mueller probe never should have happened, and called it a "hoax" and a "waste of taxpayer money".

On Thursday, Trump issued a robust tweet criticizing the Mueller probe which he described as a "total mess".

Protesters gathered in front of the White House last week as part of a nationwide "Protect Mueller" campaign.

Rumors are reverberating that Mueller may be preparing more indictments and there has been widespread media coverage of two Trump allies - Roger Stone and Jerome Corsi - who say they expect to be charged. But anytime I even think about making changes, the FAKE NEWS MEDIA goes insane, always seeking to make us look as bad as possible!
