Government climate report warns of worsening United States disasters”

The Trump administration is downplaying the significance of a report issued Friday that included dire predictions about the impact of climate change in the U.S. The White House said the study was largely based on "the most extreme scenario" and doesn't account for new technology and other innovations that could diminish carbon emissions and the effects of climate change.

The president of the United States of America seemingly managed to confuse weather and climate in a truly bad take on global warming. Black Friday is known as one of the best days of the year to bury negative news releases because of skeleton press crews and a public too busy shopping or spending time off with family to pay attention.

"Unbelievably deadly and tragic wildfires rage in the West, hurricanes batter our coasts - and the Trump administration chooses the Friday after Thanksgiving to try and bury this critical US assessment of the climate crisis", Gore said in a statement that he posted on Twitter Friday. "The President may try to hide the truth, but his own scientists and experts have made it as stark and clear as possible".

It says warming-charged extremes 'have already become more frequent, intense, widespread or of long duration.' The report also notes the last few years have smashed USA records for damaging weather, costing almost $400 billion since 2015.

'Unbelievably deadly and tragic wildfires rage in the west, hurricanes batter our coasts - and the Trump administration chooses the Friday after Thanksgiving to try and bury this critical US assessment of the climate crisis, ' Gore said in a statement on Friday.

"Climate change is transforming where and how we live and presents growing challenges to human health and quality of life, the economy, and the natural systems that support us", the report says.

Gore was not the only critic questioning the timing of the release.

"By the middle of this century, annual losses in the United States due to climate change could reach hundreds of billions of dollars", said the latest edition of the National Climate Assessment. It'll be especially costly on the nation's coasts because of rising seas and severe storm surges, which will lower property values.

Alaska and Louisiana are singled out with scientists predicating coastal flooding is likely to force some residents to relocate.

She said the next climate assessment, which will be prepared over the next four years, will "provide for a more transparent and data-driven process that includes fuller information on the range of potential scenarios and outcomes".

"He is a flawed character", Stephen Lacey, editor-in-chief of the magazine GreenTechMedia, said on his podcast "The Energy Gang" previous year.

Gore said he hoped the report would push Trump to take action to tackle climate change.

Trump Twetted this morning, attacking the climate change science this week as cold temperatures bore down on the East Coast, tweeting on Wednesday, "Whatever happened to Global Warming?" The agreement requires countries to establish ambitious targets to reduce greenhouse gasses that cause global warming.

The 2018 National Climate Assessment addresses the change in temperatures globally, 'Over climate timescales of multiple decades. global temperature continues to steadily increase'.

The report's conclusions fly in the face of the Trump administration's efforts to countermand President Obama's policies to reduce global warming, including limiting future increases in fuel economy, scrapping a program to clean up power plants-which would have helped make current and future electric vehicles cleaner-promoting electricity production from coal, and withdrawing the US from the Paris Climate Accord.
