Marco Silva 'proud' of Everton's performance despite Liverpool loss

Marco Silva 'proud' of Everton's performance despite Liverpool loss”

The German took to the pitch to celebrate his side's last gasp Merseyside derby victor on Sunday evening, running to hug goalkeeper Alisson Becker, who had started the move that led to the 96th minute header from Divock Origi.

The German irritated a number of Everton fans by running onto the pitch after Divock Origi's injury-time victor to celebrate with Liverpool goalkeeper Alisson.

"Klopp has been charged with misconduct relating to his behaviour in the 96th minute of the game between Liverpool and Everton yesterday", the FA said in a statement.

Silva said he did not hear an apology from Klopp, and added: "To be honest I didn't see (Klopp's run)".

"If we scored that goal and had been so lucky I might have done the same".

"It's not a massive mistake". "It just happened! The plan was not to run [onto the pitch to celebrate]! I think we deserved the three points". There's nothing to say actually.

"Immediately after the game I apologised to Marco Silva when we spoke to each other", said Klopp.

"I couldn't avoid it but if everybody did it every week. that's what the rules are for", he told a news conference.

"Of course in that moment, the manager can not think of fines or not". It's the moment where it's possible to celebrate. I don't know how the ball is not in in the first half. "Now something that's not normal in football has already passed and he has to look forward". "I know that in football the result is always most important but I can tell you I am proud of our players".

Sadio Mane and Andrew Robertson are doubts for the trip to Turf Moor with injuries sustained in the Merseyside derby.

"With Robbo it is not that serious as with Sadio, but we need to have a look".

'Sadio has an bad cut on his foot, it's been stitched. It needed to be stitched; he is OK but walking around here now in flip-flops and you don't play in flip-flops!

And talking to reporters on Tuesday, Klopp accepted that he broke the rules and had no complaints over the FA's decision.

"Now is the moment for him to feel the support of all of us".
