While calling this the superstar's "habit, ' Forbes also appreciated the fact that a sportsperson followed him to make it to the second spot (Virat Kohli), 'challenging an actor's domination at the top for the first time".

Badminton stars PV Sindhu (fourth) and Saina Nehwal (tenth) are the other sportspersons in the top 10 of the 2018 Forbes List for celebrities in India.

The 2018 Forbes India Celebrity 100 List rankings are based on estimates of entertainment-related earnings of celebrities. The Don's earnings were estimated at Rs 56 crore.

Deepika is followed by star player Mahendra Singh Dhoni at number 5, Aamir Khan (Rs 97.50 crore), Amitabh Bachchan (Rs 96.17 crore), Ranveer Singh (Rs 84.7 crore), Sachin Tendulkar (Rs 80.00 crore) and Ajay Devgn (Rs 74.50 crore) making it to the top 10.

Virat Kohli's earnings have been recorded at Rs 228.09 crore while Akshay's earnings are at 185 crore.

Shahrukh Khan has slipped down by 33 percent from second position to 13th position in the list as he had no release in between October 2017 and September 2018.

Deepika Padukone, who gained vast critical and commercial acclaim for her role in Sanjay Leela Bhansali's 2018 film Padmaavat, broke into the top five and snagged the fourth spot with earnings amounting to Rs 112.8 crore.

According to Forbes India, the earnings of Mammootty stands at 18 Crores. 8 crore as her yearly earnings.

Indian cricket team all-rounder Hardik Pandya, with earnings to the tune of Rs 28.46 crore, was the highest gainer (in percentage terms), with his annual earnings rising almost nine times. She has become the first woman to do so.
