Woman, Two Kids Cross into U.S., Stopped by Border Patrol

Woman, Two Kids Cross into U.S., Stopped by Border Patrol”

It was not clear whether the group would face charges and deportation or if they had requested asylum in the United States.

A number of the migrants ran to try to escape capture, but most walked slowly to hand themselves in to US Border Patrol officials waiting under floodlights.

He told Fox News that Tijuana can not continue providing support for the migrants, saying the city's resources have been depleted.

A second taller fence past a hill kept them from reaching California, creating an area heavily guarded by border patrols.

U.S. Border Patrol agents watch unauthorized migrants cross into San Ysidro, Calif., on Sunday.

Asylum seekers look past the U.S. -Mexico border fence, in Tijuana, Mexico, on November 30.

Recently, a security camera showed a family dropping their six kids 18 feet over the border wall to America soil, only to be picked up by border patrol agents and returned to the other side.

US authorities say they can process up to 100 asylum seekers a day.

"They were brought to the border by a group that told them they would be able to cross easily into the U.S.to present asylum claims, and that's not the case".

The inhospitable conditions have increased the apparent frustration of thousands of the caravaners, some of whom arrived at this Mexican border city two weeks ago.

Customs and Border Protection officials said that on the morning of December 3 security camera operators observed a group of six illegal aliens, including two small children, making their way over the border wall.

Officials said all the migrants were being moved to a former concert venue much farther from the border. Mexican authorities arrested and deported those they considered responsible for compromising the city's commitment to public order.

Some migrants, however, were reluctant to head to their new facility. But they also warned they would stop offering food and medical services at the Benito Juarez sports complex. The withdrawal of the city's authorities comes at the behest of Tijuana's mayor, Juan Manuel Gastelúm, who has repeatedly said he will protect Tijuana from disruptions from the caravan. It is 1,573 higher than a United Nations estimate.

McAleenan noted that the migrants' confusion at the border has left many desperately looking for a way to cross the border illegally.

Applying for asylum at a border post can take months and with United States officials restricting the number of applicants to between 40 and 100 a day at El Chaparral port of entry in Tijuana, the migrants could be stuck for months or even years in the shelter.
