Even Adrian Peterson Thinks The Redskins Need To Sign Colin Kaepernick”

Redskins coach Jay Gruden recently said that they made a decision to pass over Kaepernick because there was no time to get a new QB caught up on their system, or to install both a new QB and a new system.

After the Washington Redskins lost their first two QBs - Alex Smith and Colt McCoy - to injury, the team has opted to go the bargain bin options of plugging Mark Sanchez and Josh Johnson to fill the void in the huddle.

"There's some anticipation issues we're going through right now and that's to be expected, but I think come Sunday we'll have a pretty good grasp", Gruden said. "Not a lot of time to really get a brand new quarterback, a new system installed and taught in a couple days of practice". "Do we want to go with a guy that's familiar with my terminology who we worked out last week. or go with a guy and teach, basically, a whole new kind of offense with new offensive linemen with a lot of the zone reads and all that stuff".

But this time around, the Washington Redskins said otherwise, claiming that Kaep wouldn't fit into their scheme on short notice.

The Redskins also worked out quarterbacks before signing Sanchez after Smith's injury.

"Gruden said if it were Week 1, there would be a "great possibility" of signing Kaepernick".

Kaepernick has been out of the league since 2016, presumably due to his polarizing kneel-down during the National Anthem in preseason two years ago.

Let others focus on a long-ago blunder - as many on Twitter did during Washington's 28-13 loss to Philadelphia on Monday night, when Sanchez recovered his own fumble by holding the ball against his behind.

Sherman went on the "PFT PM" podcast on Tuesday and said even more, putting the entire situation into stunning and disheartening perspective. The Redskins are 6-6 and have lost four of their past five games. But they're still alive in the playoff race, trailing Dallas by one game in the NFC East.

Several owners, coaches and team executives have been called to testify, and the case is scheduled to go to trial.
