Samsung Galaxy A50 to feature 4000mAh battery

Samsung Galaxy A50 to feature 4000mAh battery”

Driven by its P20 series shipments, Chinese smartphone maker Huawei's share in the global premium smartphone segment hit double digits for the first time in the third quarter of 2018, according to Counterpoint Research.

At a rate of over 19 percent, the global, premium smartphone segment grew faster than the overall smartphone segment that declined five percent in Q3 2018, according to Counterpoint Research's Market Monitor Q3 2018 report. Next year, Samsung will unveil as many as four Galaxy S10 flavors, including the Galaxy S10 Lite with a flat 5.8-inch Infinity-O display.

Samsung is reportedly working on a new smartphone in its mid-range Galaxy A-series.

Having said that, consumers in India have no reason to feel excited about this possibility, as the supposed device will mostly be available in markets like Europe and U.S. among others.

The smartphone is expected to have OLED display and wireless charging. Aside from the Galaxy A lineup, the other device series that Samsung will keep include the Galaxy M, Galaxy S, and Galaxy Note series.

Earlier reports also mention that the Galaxy A50 will ship with Android 9 Pie pre-installed, although Samsung's proprietary skin, known as One UI, will likely run on top of Google's operating system. A new report about the Galaxy A50 reveals that the phone will not come with 5000mAh battery instead it will pack a 4000mAh battery. The Galaxy A50 is said to be powered by the Exynos 9610 chip, paired with 4GB of RAM.

Completing the setup is set to be Android 8.1 Oreo straight out of the box complete with the older Samsung Experience overlay, Bluetooth 4.2, and a 3,400mAh battery. Nonetheless, reports say that Samsung will announce the Galaxy A50 in the first half of 2019, and more information about the device will become available as the launch date draws near. These devices, however, have optical sensors under the display, but Samsung is rumored to adopt an ultrasound fingerprint sensor that would not require a direct line of sight through the screen to the fingerprint.
