Alleged Xiaomi folding phone surfaces in video, could be a hoax”

The video shows a device, thought to be a Xiaomi device and is likely a prototype, but we know multiple manufacturers are working on this technology, so its possible we see it some time in 2019. And if it is, Xiaomi might just have a solid looker here.

Last year, Samsung gave us a glimpse of its highly anticipated Galaxy F foldable phone.

Xiaomi is also reportedly working on its next Android One device.

The device that begins as a tablet, close to 3x the width of a standard phone.

Google Maps is launched and the text is in Chinese, which again fits with the Xiaomi theory, but certainly doesn't confirm it. Evan says that he can not guarantee the authenticity of the video or device but has been told that it is made by Xiaomi. Blass, however, isn't very sure about the authenticity of the video.

Blass admits to being unsure whether or not this is genuinely a Xiaomi device if the product turns out to be real. The alleged foldable phone appears with three screens and can be used as a phone as well as a tablet, which is great. After Samsung, we were expecting many other Smartphone makers to bring their foldable devices but looks like Xiaomi has already begun the race. The handset, shown in the render above, features a primary display on the inside, as well as a secondary screen on the outside so that you can use the device when it's folded closed.
