'Alien: Blackout' Revealed to Be a Survival Horror Mobile Game

'Alien: Blackout' Revealed to Be a Survival Horror Mobile Game”

According to co-developer D3 Go's website, the game centers on Amanda Ripley, the daughter of the movie series' best known human character Ellen Ripley. After the trademark appeared and Hideo Kojima and Geoff Keighley seemed to be teasing it just before The Game Awards, some of us-definitely me-may have gotten our hopes up, but it looks like we'll just have to go back to Alien Isolation.

Rather than being a sequel to Alien Isolation, it was reported to be a squad-based shooter of some sort.

When we first wrote this article a few years ago, the horror games genre wasn't great.

There's no word on if this game will cost something upfront, or if it will be a free-to-play title.

Alien: Blackout has now been fully revealed to be a Teen-rated mobile game after several teasers led up to the announcement.

Set aboard a Weyland-Yutani space station stalked by one of HR Giger's iconic monsters, Alien: Blackout sees you making choices to outwit the unrelenting Xenomorph, as it hunts you and the vessel's crew. This has many fans in an uproar, because "mobile" means "bad", apparently, or more likely simply because they want more Alien: Isolation, which means console and PC.

The game will feature seven fear-inducing levels and players will assume the role of Amanda Ripley's crew. It's a joint effort between FoxNext Games, D3 Go and Rival Games, and will once again focus on survival horror action in space. "The uncertainty and unpredictability of both the alien and her crew can impose total defeat for Amanda and the entire station". In Blackout, Amanda once again finds herself on a Weyland-Yutani space station infested with aliens and must fight to survive.

The game will make you use the station's holographic map, along with surveillance cameras and a motion tracker, so you and the crew can navigate through the station and avoid being picked off.
