Virat Kohli: We don't support 'inappropriate' team-mate comments

Virat Kohli: We don't support 'inappropriate' team-mate comments”

"Pandya has been in the team for how long to talk of the team culture in the manner he did".

"We played in India against the West Indies with a finger spinner and a wrist spinner".

All-rounder Hardik Pandya and opener Lokesh (KL) Rahul could miss India's first ODI game against Australia on Saturday, following controversy about comments the two made on popular Indian TV programme Koffee with Karan.

The absence of Hardik Pandya and KL Rahul has jolted India team's combination, a day before the first ODI match against Australia on January 12. As punishment, Pandya and Rahul were suspended by India's cricket administrators, hours after captain Virat Kohli expressed his strong disapproval.

India vs Australia 1st ODI match will be available live on Sony Six HD, Sony six in English Commentary and Sony Ten 3 HD, Sony Ten 3 in Hindi Commentary.

"So we are not too stressed as a team (about the Hardik Pandya situation) because you'll always have things that you can do in terms of creating that balance for the side".

"From the Indian cricket team point of view, any inappropriate comments that are made in that scenario are something that we definitely don't support".

"Based on the legal opinion and till the time the final procedure is laid down to address this issue, will recommend that a communication be sent to the concerned players and the team immediately", Edulji said in response to the legal team's email on Friday morning, which has been accessed by ESPNcricinfo.

K L Rahul was unlikely to get a place in playing 11 owing to both his poor form and the presence of a well-settled opening pair in Rohit Sharma and Shikhar Dhawan.

The World Cup winning skipper has managed 275 runs in his last 20 ODIs at an average 25 without a half-century.

The thought of a talk show making life hard for so many people never came across anyone's mind until India opening batsman Lokesh Rahul and all-rounder Hardik Pandya made their presence felt (in its truest sense) on renowned talk show Koffee With Karan. The worrying aspect is Dhoni's strike-rate of 71.42, which is remarkably lower than his ODI career strike-rate of 87.89. Jadhav, MS Dhoni and Ambati Rayudu will form the middle order, and there will be keen interest in the latter duo's form here. Jasprit Bumrah, who shone with the ball in the Test series, has been rested.

"If you see the last few matches that we played in UAE and India, we could play a finger spinner and a wrist spinner, but in South Africa and England two wrist spinners were critical for our success", he said.
