Marshmello makes history with first ever Fortnite in-game concert”

Even though millions of players got to experience the Showtime Squads Fortnite Marshmellow in-game concert live, there are likely plenty of players who were not able to. All you have to do is head over to the football field in Pleasant Park.

That's all there is as far as teases go, but Epic Games tends to go pretty big and wild for its special in-game events so it does look like we'll be seeing Marshmello doing something special in Fortnite come the weekend. Previous data mining from patch v7.20 uncovered a secret Marshmello music video, which will presumably debut with his concert. According to the game's developer, Epic Games, it had more than 200 million registered users worldwide in November, making it the world's most popular video game.

The posters note the event will fall on February 2 at 11 am PT (February 3 at 6 am AEST) and will be part of a showtime challenge.

The event was teased earlier this week and a number of Marshmello themed items were available beforehand, including a skin, glider, and emote. While not officially revealed, the site says it will enable respawns, "suggesting players will be able to fight each other during the concert". Such heinous acts have been a source of grief for players during past live-events so this would be a much-welcomed feature. Either way, the winning team donated the $1 million in winnings to charity.

Flashback: Marshmello previously teamed up with popular esports gamer Ninja for the "Fortnite" celebrity tournament at E3 past year.

Of course, it's not exactly fair to compare an online event such as 'Mello's Pleasant Park set with real-world shows, where you have to fit actual people into real space, but let's just consider it for a moment.
