Respawn unveils free-to-play battle royale game Apex Legends”

"Apex Legends", Electronic Arts and Respawn Entertainment's new free-to-play battle royale shooter, is available to play now. This kind of resurrection isn't typical in a battle royale game, so the mechanic should offer a fresh gameplay element.

Apex Legends takes place in the Outlands, a once thriving land far away from the Frontier we came to know in the first two Titanfall games.

The launch of Apex Legends has suffered its share of problems, although that's only to be expected when a game is unleashed and a horde of players are stampeding through the server doors.

The biggest change is that it's a completely team-based game where 20 teams of three members each fight with each other on one huge map.

Be sure to read the entire piece over at Eurogamer, which provides some more detail about the development of Apex Legends. He tweeted that he will tell us "everything" about Apex Legends.

The studio behind Titanfall 2 and the upcoming Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order is enjoying the fruits of its labours right now, but has also stressed that this is just the beginning for Apex Legends, with a year long roadmap already on the table. "You can earn a total of 45 Apex Packs from Player Levels 1 - 100". Once the popularity of PlayerUnknown's Battlegrounds and Fortnite was solidified, major games like Battlefield and Call of Duty got on board.

"Apex Packs are packs of cosmetic items or crafting currency available in Apex Legends".

You can unlock these characters for free by playing a certain number of hours, or you can pay £5 and just skip ahead.

-Use your abilities-and your wits-to make strategic calls on-the-fly, adapting your crew's strengths to meet new challenges as the match evolves. If you're here you're probably wondering how to play solo & duos, a key feature of the battle royale genre.
