Lady Gaga and Bradley Cooper To Perform "Shallow" at 2019 Oscars

Lady Gaga and Bradley Cooper To Perform

On Friday, the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences announced via Twitter that Gaga and Cooper will be taking to the stage at the 2019 Oscars to perform their song, "Shallow", from "A Star Is Born".

Recently, the duo performed the song live following a surprise appearance by Cooper at Gaga's Las Vegas show. However, this year's Academy Awards is in news more for its share of controversies than for its content. The ceremony will include performances of a number of Best Original Song nominees.

Already, Gaga was crowned a dual victor at the Critics Choice Awards for best actress and Shallow took home best song at the Golden Globes.

If you're counting, that's four out of the five nominees for best original song.

The move to have all nominated tracks performed during Hollywood's biggest night came after the Academy received online backlash following rumors that only "Shallow" and "All the Stars" would be performed during the show.

A surprise guest was to perform The Place Where Lost Things Go from Mary Poppins Returns, they revealed.

The fifth? Kendrick Lamar and SZA's 'All the Stars' from Black Panther.

The Academy has confirmed that the pair - who star as lovers Ally and Jackson Maine in the movie - will sing the Oscar-nominated song at the ceremony on February 24.
