Rapper 21 Savage being held unfairly, attorneys claim

Rapper 21 Savage being held unfairly, attorneys claim”

21 Savage's lawyers have confirmed he was born in the UK.

21 Savage, whose name is Sha Yaa Bin Abraham-Joseph, was born in London.

Abraham-Joseph has several relatives in the United States, including three children who are USA citizens, and a mother and four siblings who are either lawful permanent residents or U.S. citizens, his lawyer said.

Kuck issued a lengthy statement to clear up the "great deal of misreporting" that has taken place since his client's arrest, and noted that many had speculated 21 Savage was targetted by ICE over his new song "A Lot". Mr. Abraham-Joseph arrived legally in the United States at the age of 7 under an H-4 visa. He came to the United States from Britain in 2005, officials said.

"Mr. Abraham-Joseph was taken into ICE custody as he is unlawfully present in the USA and also a convicted felon", ICE spokesman Bryan Cox said in a statement.

21's legal status expired in 2006 through "no fault of his own", the attorney said.

On Tuesday, an ICE spokesperson told Reuters that Abraham-Joseph faces deportation proceedings in a federal immigration court. "These "Dreamers" come from all walks of life and every ethnicity".

U.S. rapper Jay-Z has hired a lawyer to assist in the case of Atlanta-based British rapper 21 Savage, who remains in custody following his arrest by USA immigration on Sunday. As it turns out, Savage has been living in the country illegally and could be deported.

Demi Lovato deactivates her Twitter account after getting backlash for mocking 21 Savage following his ICE arrest. The 26-year-old rapper's lawyer notes that Abraham-Joseph's family overstayed a July 2005 visa. "ICE provided incorrect information to the press when it claimed he had a criminal conviction".

Abraham-Joseph's lawyers describe him as a "role model" who helps underprivileged youth, and argue the drug crime he was convicted of was removed from his record in 2018.
