Man City boss Guardiola blows fuse over Mendy Hong Kong claims: F***!

Man City boss Guardiola blows fuse over Mendy Hong Kong claims: F***!”

Mendy tagged himself at Hong Kong International Airport on his Instagram story on Friday morning.

The World Cup-winning Manchester City full-back has had his fair share of injury trouble since arriving in England from Monaco in 2017, suffering another setback after he came off the bench in the second leg of the Carabao Cup semi-final at the end of January.

Mendy quickly took to Twitter to clear his name, joking that he didn't want any problems with Guardiola.

He is not yet fit to return to action ahead of City's clash with Chelsea on Sunday in the Premier League, and as such was given the green light by Guardiola to make a trip to Barcelona and Paris in a bid to regain his fitness.

"Wow, I didn't know", was Guardiola's rather stunned reply, which was being broadcast live on Sky Sports News.

"Hong Kong? F--, is he?" Meniscus. It is not easy. "That's fine, but Hong Kong is far away". He needs to readapt.

Speaking in his, an incredulous Guardiola responded to questions regarding Mendy's whereabouts by admitting: "Hong Kong?" You have to be careful'.

When asked about Mendy's post, Guardiola said: "Wow, I didn't know". Guardiola said this was because De Bruyne is still being eased back following injury: "It's quite possible [he might not start]".

Mendy then clarified he wasn't in Hong Kong after Pep Guardiola's comments.

Social media funnyman Benjamin Mendy (also a professional footballer) appeared to have been in hot water with his manager for a short while on Friday.
