3rd Child Flu Death Reported In Massachusetts

3rd Child Flu Death Reported In Massachusetts”

A 14-yr-previous lady is the first baby to die from influenza this season in San Diego.

A second New Jersey child has died from influenza complications this season, Health Commissioner Dr. Shereef Elnahal announced today.

Officials said there have been 31 deaths due to the flu this season.

When influenza-like illnesses spread in the community, death rates go up for patients on dialysis, a new study shows. "Our condolences exit to the household" stated Wilma Wooten, County public well-being the officer. "The Department of Public Health urges people to get vaccinated, to wash their hands, cover their cough and sneeze and stay home when sick to limit the spread of disease".

That brings the total number of flu deaths this season, which started September 30, 2018, to 68 in North Carolina. The other four residents - ages 82, 73, 62 and 56 - all had underlying medical issues, as well.

The third child to die from the flu in MA has been identified as a 4-year-old girl from Lowell.

Officials said the flu season began in September. "Influenza continues to be widespread. Getting the flu vaccine is the best way to protect yourself and your loved ones from the illness".

She says the timing of this flu season's peaks compared to last are nearly identical, but this season is significantly less severe. The vast majority of instances have been of the H1N1 virus, the county says, which usually impacts youthful and center-aged adults as a result of they haven't been uncovered as a lot as older adults.
