Starbucks launches Ariana Grande inspired drink

Starbucks launches Ariana Grande inspired drink”

Ariana Grande has sold millions of albums and sold out arenas around the world. Two new permanent drinks will make their debut this spring, both celebrating Starbucks and Grande's "shared love of clouds".

Grande has been a past client of Rock Lititz, as have artists like Taylor Swift and Katy Perry. So it makes flawless sense that the singer, who's about to embark on her Sweetener World Tour, has teamed up with the coffee giant to launch her own speciality "Cloud Macchiato" drink. According to the coffee chain, the new drink "combines the craft of Starbucks espresso, the heritage of Starbucks Caramel Macchiato (created in 1996) and the innovation of Starbucks Cold Foam, an airy microfoam frothed cold and blended until smooth, creating layers of creamy texture and flavor, without the cream".

Which. oh Ms. Grande, that's not how you spell the name of the town. We do know that the Starbucks launch coincides with International Women's Day, so there's that. Here's hoping the rehearsals - and the coffee - go down smoothly.

The original macchiato was introduced to the Starbucks menu in the late 1980s. Regardless of what the company says, some feel Starbucks and Grande are putting the full force of capitalism behind a day meant to honor women and their accomplishments.

Also cool is that you can order it with either caramel and cinnamon flavors and take it either cold or hot.

Starbucks' new cloud macchiato additionally could have a star tie-in. Starbucks' in-house team developed a "cloud powder" that uses dehydrated egg whites and milk to achieve the drink's meringue-like foam texture. Grande's perfume line is also inspired by clouds, making these two dreamy drinks flawless for the upcoming spring.

Better yet, the Cloud Macchiato will be a permanent item on the Starbuck's menu in participating USA and Canada stores.
