49ers, Kwon Alexander agree to deal”

The 49ers and linebacker Kwon Alexander have reportedly agreed to a four-year, $54 million deal, according to NFL Network's Ian Rapoport. The contract will not be official until free agency begins on Wednesday at 1 p.m. But Alexander also led the National Football League with 67 missed tackles from 2015-17, according to SportRadar. That didn't stop San Francisco from rewarding him with the richest deal ever for an inside linebacker to pair him with 2018 third-round pick Fred Warner. He tore his anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) on October 22, 2018.

The linebacker, who turns 25 in August, suffered a torn ACL in Week 7 but is expected to be fit for the start of the new season.

His most productive season came in 2016, when his 108 solo tackles led the league, and he ended the 2017 season with a spot in the Pro Bowl. Prosecutors dropped the charges against Foster in January. The problem? Alexander has missed 14 games due to injury in the past four seasons and another four for violating the NFL's policy on performance-enhancing substances.
